Do you have a digital camera and never known how to use it? Or would you like to know how to try to use manual mode and have more control of the photographs you take?
Join Helena M Photography at the American Museum & Gardens for a beginner’s digital photography workshop. We will start the day by looking around the America in Crisis photography exhibition to help initiate a discussion about the photographic medium. We will then discuss the work over a warm drink and a cookie and go through the basics of how to take a powerful digital image. Helena will run through the fundamentals of digital photography covering composition, framing, point of view, tone and lighting. We will specifically look at techniques such as aperture, shutter speed & ISO.
The day will conclude with a hands-on opportunity to take photographs in the garden of the museum, using the different plants and views as subjects or each other. We will then come back indoors to look through our images and watch Helena as she does a live edit of one of her photographs.
