Families

Taking inspiration from nature and the landscape, we’ve created a magical space where children can engage with the natural world and American culture, with play experts the Green Play Project. The Children’s Garden is a place for families of all ages to spend time together.

You don’t need to pre-book to visit but we may need to temporarily limit numbers, from time to time. All of the play equipment has been ROSPA checked and we undertake daily checks of paths, walkways and the surrounding area. Use of the equipment is at your own risk.

During this time, please bring your own hand sanitiser.

Even more to explore
The New American Garden and Mount Vernon Garden also await explorers of all ages. From winding paths and colourful flowers to woodland wanders with your four-legged friends, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Visit our temporary Forest of the Imagination installation in partnership with Bath Spa University’s Centre for Cultural and Creative Industries and local artists. The installations around the gardens encourage visitors, particularly young ones, to explore various spaces through special interactive installations including fun water play with the natural springs in our gardens. The installations will be up all summer to 31 August. Find out more about Forest of the Imagination at the American Museum & Gardens.
