American Halloween

Join us throughout October half term for a classic American Halloween atmosphere and exciting outdoor and indoor trails, with fun activities every day. Visit on Halloween day itself for trick or treating and costume parades in our beautiful autumnal gardens.

 

Every day

  • Halloween Creature garden trail – follow the clues, open the sensory box and feel or smell what’s inside, then find the secret letters in each box’s story to unlock the trail code. With candy treat at the end!
  • Museum bat search
  • Family activities indoors in the Stables, including a reading corner, colouring, crafts or puzzles
  • Seasonal treats at the American Garden Deli


Storytelling

30 October – 11am, 12 and 1pm
1 November – 11am, 12, 2pm and 3pm


On Halloween Day
31 October

  • Trick or Treat event in the gardens, 11am–1pm
  • Dog costume competition, 12.30pm
  • Kids’ costume parade, 1.15pm

11am–1pm and 2–4pm


Things you need to know

No booking required.

It’s £3.50 for the garden trail, plus normal admission (1 treat per trail sheet).

The bat search in the museum is free with a full-site ticket.

When you arrive, please go to the Ticket Office to purchase admission and find out about the Halloween trails and activities.

The American Museum & Gardens’ site is open from 10am–5pm, however please note that areas open and close at different times within this:

  • Exhibition, Gardens, Gift Shop, and Car Park: 10am–5pm (last entry 4.30pm)
  • American Garden Deli: 10am–4.30pm (last entry 4pm, last orders at 4.20pm)
  • Museum: 11am–4pm (last entry 3pm)

On busy event days, the American Garden Deli may offer a select menu.

Family activities are located in the Stables.
