Annual Appeal

Artists' impression of chandelierPLEASE GIVE TO OUR “LET THERE BE LIGHT” APPEAL

We need to raise £20,000 as soon as possible!

The Museum’s main site, the Manor House (shown above), will be 200 years old in 2020. To mark this major milestone, we wish to commission and install a light-based artwork, shaped like a chandelier, in the beautiful Central Hall.

The chandelier will be a unique artwork that has not been seen in the United Kingdom before. It will be created by Somerset-based Bruce Munro who has been a practising artist for 30 years. His work has appeared in the United Kingdom, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, as well as in the United States, Australia, Mexico and other countries.

Once installed, the chandelier will give the appearance of a column of light rings, thanks to its unusual use of components and its construction.

We need to raise the £20,000 cost of the creation and installation of the new chandelier now so that it is ready for the Manor House’s 200th anniversary in 2020.

So, please give as generously as you can to our special 2016 annual appeal: You can donate online using the form below; or, by telephone by calling 01225 823010; or, by post by completing the donation form and returning it with your cheque to: Development Office, American Museum in Britain, Claverton Manor, Bath BA2 7BD; or, by picking up a donation form and a reply envelope at the Museum’s Reception desk. The Museum accepts donations by credit and debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Delta, or Maestro).
