Full description »

The delicate stars of this quilt have been pieced from diamonds cut from pink, cream, and brown patterned cotton. They have been beautifully framed by the sashing that runs between them. This fabric has been cut so that the width of the sashing contains the pattern printed onto the cotton. Great care has been taken with the cutting and sewing to ensure that the straight line of the pattern is not lost. There is a handwritten inscription in black ink on the corner of the backing: ‘To T. Mair from Aunt Mary A. Smith’.
