Full description »

Twenty Birds in the Air blocks (each approximately 12 inches square) have been set within sashing (3 ½ inches wide) to form this quilt top. Each block is pieced from half-square triangles and 2-inch squares. Patterned fabrics of different colours have been used, but each block uses only two fabrics, one light and one dark. A light patterned sashing fabric has been used for backing and binding the quilt. This quilt has been tied, rather than quilted; this is a speedy way of securing the three layers and thus completing the quilt.
