Fashion Archives on Film: Beatrice Pratt— The Ball
Beatrice Pratt prepares for the Ball of the Gods at New York’s Astoria Hotel, 1916’s biggest social event. But what will she wear?
Beatrice Pratt was a wealthy New York socialite and mother to Dallas Pratt, co-founder of the American Museum in Britain. This film is based on her letters and diary entries, which are held in the American Museum’s archives.
Fashion Archives on Film was a joint project by the American Museum in Britain and the Fashion Museum. Students from Bath Studio School created six short films based on their research about Beatrice. The project was funded by South West Museum Development Programme using public funding from Arts Council England
