Classic Quilts from The American Museum in Britain

Each entry features photographs of the full quilt, as well as detail shots of interesting design elements (such as signatures, quilting designs, and backing fabrics). The accompanying text describes how each quilt was made (including measurements of border, blocks, etc.) as well as putting the design in its historical context. Quilts featured include pieces sewn by slaved seamstresses, a Baltimore Album quilt over ten feet square and boldly patterned Hawaiian and Amish examples.
