‘Kaffe Fassett’ Inspired Ribbon Beads with Janet Haigh – Fully Booked
September 15, 2015 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
This workshop is now fully booked.
Designing and making samples for Heart Space Studios’ first book, Little Ribbon Patchworks, Janet Haigh couldn’t bring herself to throw away any of the leftover scraps of beautiful, multi-coloured Jacquard ribbons that were designed and provided by Kaffe Fassett.
At the end of book she included several delicious fabric beads made from these leftovers. Tiny scraps of jewel-coloured ribbons (where the backs are often as beautiful as the fronts) have been beaded, wrapped, and stitched with lurex threads to create strings of multi-coloured fabric beads.
At this half day workshop, specially developed to celebrate the launch of the book at the American Museum in Britain, you will be given a package of the same ribbon scraps, fabrics, beads and threads to enable you to create a set of coordinating fabric beads that can be later developed by simple means into a neat necklace or bracelet.
